Shunji Matsuo Hair academy Graduation show
Then I take a train to te north. I am racing against the time actually. I am thinking whether to buy the flower at Novena Square ( Cold Storage ) or Bishan Junction. I decide to stop at Bishan to avoid being late. I go to Raffles Florist and welcomed by the super-friendly sales assistant who is more than willing to help me to decide the bouquet based on my budget.
I manage to get sunflower bouquet at $15 instead of buying a stalk of sunflower which cost about $8. One can never be wrong giving sunflower to anyone at any ocassion because it symbolize adoration, pride and admiration.
Morever, Kern is just like a sunflower, bright and cheery whenever we meet up.
Want to show someone how much they are adored? Give them a sunflower bouquet, as the flowers represent adoration, pride and loyalty.
Then I meet lily at 1.20pm. I am not sure about the Singapore Press Holding so we take a cab there. Actually it is quite a walking distance from Bradell MRT station. Then we walk to the auditorium.
Sunflower Wish for graduated girl
Lily realises that she over-dress for the occasion somehow. I think we both are really overdressing. Then we go to the counter and collect the door gift and a star stickers. Coincidently, the star stickers match our clothing colour. There are quite a number of beautiful people loitering outside auditorium waiting to enter at 2pm. We are quite early hence, we check out what's inside the goodies bag
1) Wella Biotpuch conditioner and shampoo
2) Lip shiny gloss
3) La biosthetique instant hair care
4) Few vouchers
Lily gives her conditioner/shampoo to me since she does not use Asian-made product, therefore I give her the lip gloss since I do not use that kind of glittering gloss. Then Kern comes out for a pee. I pass the bouquet to her and give a good hug. Nice to see her before the show.
By 2 pm, the place starts to fill up with good-looking people. The organizer suggests us to have the buffet first while waiting for the show. It takes a while for people to warm up and take te food. I think it is quite inappropriate to have th food before the show. It is usually taken after the show where people will be mingling together with the graduates, the people of hair academy, the models as well as the public.
Anyway, the food is so delicious that I take a second helping.
Then at 2.15pm, we are allowed to take the seats inside but still have to wait for the show. I am not that surpised though because there are bound to be delays in such events.
1)The foods are delicious
2) Stars sticker that match our cloth colour
At 2.30pm, the show starts with a belly dance by one of the graduates, followed by the breakdance by one of the student, I think. What a way to start the show. Then the main event starts. One by one of the graduates will show their displays or the showmanships on the models' hair ( usually 3 or 4 people ) who then parade on the stage as well as the aisle where people like us can see them close. Their clothes are being sponsored by the NAFA.
Actually I am more focus on their dressing style more than their hair actaully. There are few male models parade with the hairstyle throughout the show. Worse still, the ability to show variations on the males is so limited. They display mostly punk style which of course I like but no in the use since I am searching for job.
glimpse of the catwalk ( lousy cam )
Lily is impressed with Kern's creation because she wish to have one of kern's model hairstyle. Overall, it is quite impressive but I wish for more graduates to to display their talents or perhaps more models to show the cariation of the creativity of the graduates. Lily finds that only one graduate show the theme goes well with the music. Kern's music does not support her white theme. It sound yogaic.
I am easy with anything.
The finale
After that, there is hands-on by the hairstylist of the hair academy which touch on the head spa experience , tackling loss of hair and so ever. I get bored so I tell Lily to leave early and meet Kern outside. Most of the people involved in the show are outside the auditorium
After fashion show
I manage to take picture with Kern and her models which are mostly blur.
And I look so puffy , damn I should not comb my hair to the back. Talk about disastrous creation.
I cannot manage to take most of the models because my camera battery goes flat at last minute.
Me wth Kern and her models
After sbidding goodbye to Kern, we take a cab to Toa Payoh Central. The place is quite huge actually, very heartlander. The Lily brings me to Fork and Spoon foodcourt. What astonish me that most of the stall is halal-certified. Since Lily is on vegetarian diet today due to the 15th day of the month, she orders the vegetarian noodle and satay while I order sabao soari japanese set ( $5.90 ). What astonished me again that the vegetarian satay really tastes like real satay.
Impressive.
I observe that a lot of customers visit the vegetarian stall. The main appeal about the stall is the varieties of the dishes. Imagine to have vegetarian chicken rice but taste like real one.
F&S foodcourt is much colouful and hip than Banquet foodcourt
Then we walk around and explore the place. Lily buys ham at NTUC for her lunch tommorow . After that, we decide to call for a day and go back home.
Too bad, my camera batteries gone flat or else you can see the extraordinary Toa payoh neighbourhood mall.
No sight of beautiful people, somehow.
